Background
Our website still discusses “getting ready for jobs” mode of operations, but we’ve adjusted it a little bit over the years. We need to understand how to improve the language so that we can focus our copywriting on service leadership and the team practices. This project will deal with exploring how to improve our language on the website for members before they join, and adjusting the website itself.
Goals
- How might we help people better understand our mission and vision before they join the community?
- How might we showcase the most value proposition to membership of Tech Fleet?
- How might we streamline the conversion paths into Tech Fleet membership?
- How might we increase membership conversions from the Tech Fleet website?
Problems to Solve
- Our website discusses “getting ready for jobs” mode of operations, but we’ve adjusted it a little bit over the years, leading to people seeing vague value proposition before they join. People who visited our website in the last user testing we ran still interpreted the language to be focused on training and not on service leadership + collaboration
- Funders only see language about job readiness and career development, leading to people having the wrong idea about whether and why they would fund tech fleet
Scope

- Decide which items of the brand identity need to change
- Pick a design system that can be used out of the box with React and can be customized
- Create copywriting based on the site map that’s been designed
- Implement the design system that we choose
