Profit & Loss

What is this page?

The Profit & Loss (P&L) page is your complete financial statement for your TikTok Shop. It can show profit on either a settlement basis or an accrual basis, and it keeps product sales, customer-paid shipping, shipping costs, TikTok fees, COGS, overhead, and ad spend visible as separate components.

Money is displayed in your shop's currency. JPY and other zero-decimal currencies do not show a trailing decimal suffix, while currencies with minor units keep their normal decimal places. This changes presentation only; the underlying totals and calculations are unchanged.

Think of it as a financial report card: Revenue tells you how much came in, Expenses tell you how much went out, and Profit tells you what you kept.

In a daily report, scroll the statement horizontally to compare dates and reach the TOTAL column. TOTAL moves with the dated columns so it does not cover a daily amount while you scroll. The summary cards above the statement also show the overall result.

After your Flex Charge Limit is reached

The Profit & Loss page remains available and keeps the same date, timezone, basis, and filter controls. After the limit, imports continue and existing visible data stays available: order-derived values include only orders that were visible before your Flex Charge Limit was reached. New post-cap orders are saved but stay out of P&L rows, product filters, fee details, and exports until they are released.

Hidden post-cap orders stay hidden across renewals and new usage cycles. They become visible when you raise your Flex Charge Limit so it covers more orders, or upgrade to a plan with enough capacity. Activating an approved custom plan or an approved support release also reveals them. Independent costs, such as Ad Spend or a Manual Adjustment, may continue to update for the selected date range even while new order-derived values are held.

Keeping P&L and Sales & Profit on one version

Report captured shows when Dashboardly selected the report version you are viewing. It is not the time TikTok last synced, and it does not mean every order is final. Continue to use Data confidence to check settlement readiness.

When you move between Dashboardly Standard P&L and Sales & Profit in the same browser tab with matching shop, dates, timezone and report filters, both pages use that selected version. Reloading the page keeps it while it remains valid. Product/SKU breakdowns, fee details and downloaded reports must match their parent report; they cannot silently switch to newer figures. Changing Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly grouping combines the same daily money amounts, including manual-expense categories. Unique-order totals still count a split order once, and ratios are recalculated from the totals.

Dashboardly prepares the matching Product/SKU and fee details before showing that selected version. A background sync does not make those details switch versions when you open them for the first time. Searching and clearing the Product list changes which rows you see, not the figures saved in the report.

Select Refresh report to choose a newer complete version. A selection lasts up to 15 minutes. If it expires, a financial edit invalidates it, or a detail cannot be supplied from the same version, Dashboardly clears the affected view and automatically loads a new complete report with the same dates, filters and search. Returning to a page with an expired selection also starts this recovery; you do not need to press Refresh just because the previous selection expired. If the replacement still cannot be loaded consistently, the page stops retrying and offers Refresh report. It does not replace missing values with zero. Neither automatic recovery nor this control reconnects your shop or starts a new import.

A refund or settlement adjustment imported later can change an earlier Order date report because the cash remains attributed to the original order. Refresh the report to see the updated figures. The same source change applies across your saved timezone selections; switching timezones does not freeze the older settlement amount. Saved custom reports retain their separate prepared-calculation workflow.

Understanding the P&L Structure

The P&L page presents metrics in a hierarchical tree. The diagram below is specifically the Accrual basis bridge, where the visible order-side components build profit:

Revenue
  - Gross Sales (product-only, before discounts)
  - Seller discounts (subtracted)
  - TikTok-funded product discounts (subtracted)
  = Net Sales

Shipping
  + Customer-paid shipping
+ Shipping costs / TikTok adjustments (signed)
  = Net Shipping

Cost of Goods
  - COGS
= Gross Profit (Net Sales - COGS)

Operating Expenses
  - Shipping Costs
  - FBT Fees
  - Platform Fees & Taxes
      - Referral Fee
      - Co-funded Promotion Fee
      - Other Fees
  - Net Affiliate Cost
      - Sales Commission
      - Ads Commission
  - Sample Costs
  - Refunds & Returns
  - Manual Adjustments
      - Manual Income (adds to profit)
      - Manual Expenses (subtracts from profit)
  = Operating Profit

Below the Line
  - Net Ad Spend
      - Gross Ad Spend
          - GMV Max
          - Auction
      - Ad Credits
  = Net Profit

On Settlement basis, Operating Profit starts from TikTok's settled amount, then applies merchant-side costs that TikTok does not settle, such as COGS and manual expenses. The TikTok shipping, fee, affiliate, and refund rows remain visible to explain the settled amount; do not subtract them from that settlement anchor again.

(Platform Subsidy is shown for reference only -- it is already included in your sales revenue, so it is not added here.)
