Pikkaru sorts the photos and videos on your iPhone by file size, filters them by format, and lets you check each one before deleting it. It never uploads your photos or videos, and no account is needed.
I deleted items but storage did not free up
Deleted items move to Recently Deleted in the Photos app and stay there for 30 days. To free up space now, open Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted → Select → Delete All. After 30 days they are removed automatically.
The sizes shown do not match my free space
If iCloud Photos is set to Optimize iPhone Storage, Pikkaru shows the original file size. That can differ from the space used by the smaller copy kept on this iPhone.
A video will not play
Pikkaru plays only videos stored on this iPhone. Videos kept only in iCloud are listed but not downloaded, to avoid network use. Open the video once in the Photos app to bring it onto the device, then try again.
Only some of my photos are listed
Photo access is set to Limited. With full access Pikkaru sorts your whole library; with limited access it sorts only the items you selected. You can change the access level in Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > Pikkaru.
What is free?
Sorting, filtering, the storage dashboard, photo viewing and previews of videos stored on this iPhone are free with no limits. Deleting is free for up to 50 photos or videos in total, with no daily reset.
What does Pro include?
Pro is a single one-time purchase. It removes the deletion limit and adds bulk selection (the top 100 items shown, or everything in the current filter, up to 5,000 items at a time). There is no subscription and no advertising. We will never remove a feature you paid for.
I paid for the app when it first came out
From September 22 to 30, 2026, Pikkaru was listed as a paid app because of a pricing mistake on our side. The app itself is now free. If you bought the app during that period, please email us at the address under Contact below.
Pro disappeared after a new phone or reinstall
Open Settings > Pikkaru Pro > Restore purchases. You need to be signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it.
