Thermal — Privacy Policy

Thermal is provided by Halime Güven. This policy explains how the Thermal iPhone app and its Apple Watch companion handle information.

Camera, photos and videos

Thermal processes camera frames and imported photos on your device to create visual effects. Camera images, recordings and imported photos are not uploaded to our servers or RevenueCat.

Camera permission enables the live viewfinder. Microphone permission enables sound recording with videos. Apple's photo picker provides access to the images you select. Permission to add to Photos is requested when you save captures or enable automatic saving.

Captures, thumbnails and a gallery index are stored locally in the app. Stored information may include capture time and the selected effect.

Images or videos that you export, share or send to support are handled by the destination you choose. Device backups and iCloud Photos, if enabled, are controlled by Apple and your device settings.

Face and body detection

Thermal uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect face and body regions and create simulated heat effects.

Detection results are used temporarily during rendering. Thermal does not identify people, create face profiles, store biometric templates or transmit detection results to our servers or third-party servers.

Photos and videos you choose to save may contain people's faces and bodies.

Apple Watch

When the paired Apple Watch companion is used, the iPhone sends reduced preview images and camera status to your paired watch through Apple's WatchConnectivity framework.

The watch sends camera-control commands to your iPhone. These previews are not uploaded to our servers.

Purchases and RevenueCat

Apple processes payments. We do not receive your payment card details.

Thermal uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore purchases and manage Pro access. RevenueCat processes an automatically generated app user identifier, purchase receipts or transaction information, subscription status and technical information needed to provide its service.

This may include app and operating-system versions, device information, vendor identifiers and network information. Requests may occur when the app starts, checks access, purchases or restores purchases. This processing is separate from camera and photo processing.
