Welcome to the official support page for Colors Unlocked.
Colors Unlocked is a color identification app designed especially for people with color blindness. Point your phone's camera at anything to hear and see its color name, family and shade.
How do I identify a color? Point the ring in the middle of the screen at anything. The color's name, family and shade appear at the bottom. Switch to Tap (bottom left) to pick any spot by touching it instead.
Can I replay the tutorial? Yes: tap the small arrow under the top bar, then Settings → Replay Tutorial. You can also tap the ? button anytime to label every button on screen.
How do I freeze the picture? Tap the pause button above the color card, or press and hold anywhere on the camera view. Drag your finger to move the ring around the still image. Tap play to go back to the live camera.
Can I check colors in my photos? Yes: tap the arrow under the top bar, then Photo, and choose a picture. Tap or drag to move the ring.
How do I save a color? Tap the blue + button on the color card, give it a name, and tap Save. Find your saved colors and recent history under the arrow → Saved.
What does highlight mode do? Tap the highlighter icon (top left) to make chosen colors stand out in the camera view. Pick which colors to find, and choose a style:
Use the Match slider to catch more or fewer shades.
What does Ring Size do? In Settings, Small and Large average every color inside the ring, which gives steadier readings on fabric and textured surfaces. Spot reads a single point.
The colors don't look accurate. Good lighting makes the biggest difference. Try the flashlight (top right), or the brightness boost (the sun button on the right). A larger ring size also helps on textured surfaces.
The camera isn't working. Make sure camera access is allowed: iPhone Settings → Colors Unlocked → Camera.
