Why is Event Viewer so important?

Event viewer is a useful tool to identify error codes in windows, it allows to give you a more deep understanding of what actually happened versus someone saying “my pc shutoff”.

This is a small lab to demonstrate how to diagnose a problem instead of guessing and continuously fixing until something eventually works.

Press Ctrl+R for the run command

and type eventvwr.msc

You will be prompted with event viewer

You have a small event type summary and also a log summary.

Event Type is how Urgent something could be for example, Critical, Error, Warning Notice, Information.

Log summary goes in depth and shows what happened. If I double click the log at the bottom It will show a more in depth view of logs.
