Eeeeek I love a good upcycle project! And it turns out, an old chair makes the perfect fairy garden. Who. Freaking. Knew. I sure didn’t. To make your own all you need is an old chair with a solid seat and a few of your favorite fairy garden accessories. And while it might seem overwhelming or complex, I promise you that you can make your own upcycled chair fairy garden in about an hour.

Upcycled Vanity Chair Fairy Garden:Here is what you will need to make this project…
– Old vanity chair (I find these everywhere! Thrift stores, garage sales, Craigslist, curbs) – Spray paint in choice of color (This one is my fave and I use it on literally everything.) – Round faux moss piece, found at Michael’s for around $3. You can also use a piece of fake grass, astro turf, or indoor/outdoor green flooring found at most home improvement stores. – Assorted fairy garden accessories (Found at Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, or you can make your own piece which I will tell you more about later)

**Directions:**1. Take a damp cloth and clean the chair well, removing all dust, dirt, and debris. Wipe clean and dry. 2. Apply two coats of spray paint in your choice of color and finish. I chose this gorgeous gold paint.
Once the paint dries, you can place the moss circle on top of the seat. Mine fit pretty well, but if you are using sheets of the product or an astro turf type product, just cut it to fit. Use a staple gun to attach it to the seat.
You can now start adding your fairy garden accessories. I made a bunting banner from craft paper and two straws/string. I also made a mini campfire with sticks, rocks, and some colorful felt to look like flames.
Friends, you don’t have to buy a tons of stuff from the craft store to fill your fairy gardens. Use dollar store plants, flowers, rocks, sticks, and your own handmade creations to do it for less.

Once your fairy garden accessories are arranged (I will tell you know you may never be finished, you can continue to add and change it around all summer!) it is ready to be displayed. I found a few extra pieces from Michael’s that I added, like cola bottles and mini mushrooms, as well as some cute furniture.

Cute, right? See, that wasn’t so bad. Now I just need this Fairy Garden Vintage Camper to add to the mix and I am all set. 🙂
