■ #1 Instructor couple We’re excited to introduce our first instructor couple: New York dancers Mickey and Natasha! Building on the dancing of the old-timers, Mickey has continued to develop a distinctive Balboa style of his own. He has also played a pivotal role in introducing and popularizing Slow Balboa. In previous years, we weren’t able to invite him because ABX overlapped with Bal Week, but we’re thrilled that we can finally welcome him this time! With over 22 years of partner-dance experience, Natasha has quickly risen to become a world-class instructor in the Balboa scene. ABX와도 매우 인연이 깊고 그녀를 정식으로 초대할 수 있어서 기쁩니다!

■ #2 Instructor couple Our second instructor couple are Pure Balboa champions—Yoshi & Etsuko! Hailing from Japan, currently live in Seattle, USA, with the passion of the swing dance since 2001, Yoshi and Etsuko Uemura are experts in Pure Balboa, bringing a distinctive style to their dancing, performances, and workshops. They focus on the classic style and aesthetics with smooth footwork, yet innovative forward thinking concept, ensuring a strong lead-follow communication on the dance floor. Whether it's a workshop, social dance, or competition, they will bring the joy and excitement of Pure Balboa to the dance floor. Yoshi and Etsuko have been the finalists of the Pure Balboa Contest at California Balboa Classic since 2017, and they took home the championship title in 2023, the 2nd place in 2025, and the first place in 2026. 두 번째 강사 커플은 퓨어 발보아 챔피언, 요시 & 에츠코입니다! 일본 출신으로 현재 미국 시애틀에 거주하고 있는 요시 우에무라와 에츠코 우에무라는 2001년부터 스윙댄스에 대한 열정을 이어온 퓨어 발보아 전문가입니다. 두 사람은 춤과 퍼포먼스, 워크숍에서 자신들만의 독특한 스타일을 선보입니다. 부드러운 풋워크를 바탕으로 클래식한 스타일과 미학을 추구하는 동시에, 혁신적이고 미래지향적인 콘셉트를 접목하여 댄스 플로어에서 리드와 팔로우 사이의 탄탄한 소통을 만들어냅니다. 워크숍, 소셜 댄스, 대회 등 어떤 자리에서든 퓨어 발보아만의 즐거움과 짜릿함을 플로어에 가득 전해줄 것입니다. 요시와 에츠코는 2017년부터 California Balboa Classic의 Pure Balboa Contest에서 꾸준히 결승에 진출해 왔습니다. 2023년 우승, 2025년 준우승에 이어 2026년 다시 한번 우승을 차지했습니다.
