김지연은 영화음악가이자, 뮤지션(11), 사운드 아티스트로 동시대의 사운드 실천과 영화적 스토리텔링을 잇는 작업을 해오고 있습니다. 2011년부터 듣기 행위와 소리 매체를 중심으로 하는 창작 작업을 공연, 설치, 영상 등 다양한 매체로 발표해 왔습니다. 다큐멘터리 <김군>을 계기로 영화음악을 시작했으며 기억, 목소리, 역사적 트라우마, 디아스포라를 다루는 작품들에 피아노·전자음악·필드레코딩을 결합해 음향적 힘과 감정의 결을 불어넣었습니다. 픽션과 다큐멘터리를 넘나드는 작업들에 관심을 바탕으로 음악과 사운드를 함께 고민하고 실행하는 ‘듣기 경험’으로서의 영화 비전을 궁리 중입니다.

Jiyeon Kim is a film composer, musician(a.k.a 11) and sound artist whose work bridges contemporary sound practice and cinematic storytelling. Since 2011, she has presented creative works centered on listening and sound media across various forms, including performances, installations, and video. She has created original scores for documentaries and narrative films that address memory, voice, historical trauma, and displacement. Blending piano, electronics, and field recordings, her compositions enhance directorial visions across diverse cinematic forms, with particular recognition in works engaging with modern and contemporary Korean history. Drawn to working across fiction and documentary, she continues to explore ways of conceiving and realizing music and sound together, envisioning film as “listening experience”.
