The five-minute version
✈️ Land at Kansai (KIX) for long-haul, or Kobe (UKB) if you're routing via Seoul, Taipei, Shanghai or Nanjing. From KIX, the Bay Shuttle ferry is 30 minutes and lands you one train ride from the venues. Full routes on 02 · Getting to Kobe
💳 Put Suica in your phone's wallet — the best option by far, and you can do it in the baggage hall. iPhone: Wallet → + → Transit Card, then set it as Express Transit. Android phones can't, so buy a physical card at any station machine. Many places that don't take credit or debit cards do take Suica — trains, buses, taxis, konbini, shops, vending machines, lockers. Recharge from your card in seconds and keep about ¥5,000 on it. Don't buy the 28-day tourist cards
💴 Take ¥20,000–30,000 from the 7-Eleven ATM in arrivals, and carry ¥5,000–10,000 daily. Plenty of places you'll want to go are cash only
🥐 Meals aren't included, but a simple breakfast is provided Monday to Friday at the base, and lunch there is under ¥1,000 — see the menu
