(The scene picks up directly after RON’s closing laugh. MIA and G are outside on the sidewalk.)

Are you sure you don’t want me to come upstairs with you? Two heads are better than one for a decision this big, and I really think I could—

MIA

You are the best. I mean that. But I’m going up alone. I’ve met Karen and Chad. You haven’t. And you’re—

Ron didn’t like me.

MIA

I didn’t say that.

You liked what he said, though.

MIA

I’m saying it’s a different world I have to walk into, and I need to walk into it as myself. Not half of a two-person act.
