Peer Profile and Personal Goals

Peer Profile

We’ll use peer profiles throughout the module to get to know each other!

Each person will have a peer profile card and will be able to open and access each other’s cards. It’s like a directory of your peers to help everyone get remember each others’ names, pronouns, and preferences.

As we go along in the module will you add additional information to your peer profile card such as your preference for feedback and tutorial link.

Use the form to the right, in the second column to create your peer profile! Once submitted you will have a card that can be updated at any time later. If you submit a second time - you will need to delete one card.

Personal Goals

In addition to the learning goals for this module, you’ll add one additional goal to your list.

This is a personal goal that you can work towards during the activities for this module.

This could be something like “I will develop my ability to edit videos using Camtasia,” where you might have a professional goal (such as learning video editing with Camtasia) can you can work towards (develop my ability) during the module (creating and editing a tutorial video using Camtasia). The options are almost endless — but they must fit within the scope of our module activities.

If you’re not sure what to pick, consider some of these:

• Learning to sew a tote bag so I can create a custom sized tote bag for myself.
• Learning GIS software (since that’s what I’m currently doing in my class right now), to create a vinyl cut of my dataset in Ontario. (assuming the tutorial chosen is for a vinyl cut object)
• Improving my graphic design skills in Affinity by practicing them while making media for my tutorial.

Module Learning Goals

1. Develop your self-directed learning skills by learning to use a new makerspace technology through online resources, self-reflection activities, and giving constructive feedback.
2. Demonstrate your ability understanding of a makerspace technology and ability to use the technology safety and appropriately by following the tutorial and creating an object.
3. Use the Canon R10 mirrorless camera to compose high quality images and/or video that support a tutorial on learning or using a makerspace technology.
4. Pick one of:
   1. Demonstrate your developing ability to teach others how to use a makerspace technology by modifying the tutorial you followed in order to improve it through written instructions and/or media that supports the tutorial steps.
   2. Demonstrate your ability to teach others how to use a makerspace technology by building a tutorial that guides someone through creating an output with the technology using clear technical writing and media that supports your written instructions.
