Give me the courage, Lord

Give me the courage to ride the current of uncertainty

Teach me to surf over the tides of possible failures

May I be able to endure being rocked by these waves

May I be able to look into the eye of the storm

And not become so intimidated that I run back to dry land

I thought the goal was to be out of these waters

To reach this dry land

But I’ve learned there are others in those waters

There are others asking themselves the same questions I was

Now I know there is a time to rest

A time to be on solid ground

But even this is not for the reason I had originally thought

It is not simply for the purpose of enjoying peace

But rather to be trained on stable foundations

To build my spiritual skills upon the rock…

The cornerstone

So that I may be sent back into those waters that I was rescued from

To extend a hand
