Welcome lady and gentlemen to the launch of yet another Injustice League season.

Before I go into the specifics of this upcoming season, I first want to address something. I, your beloved commissioner, am not perfect. In the previous years I have continued to push the envelope of what some might call ‘reasonable expectations’ of fantasy football.

First, I created a second league with a relegation and promotion system, forcing the weakest amongst us to be thrust out of the league entirely.

Next, I merged the leagues back together creating an enormous 18 team league.

Then, last year, I added a Flex player and a 5th bench spot to each team, creating teams of 23 players in an 18 man league, pushing the limits just to see how much every team could struggle with effectively having to field every AFL player playing each week.

But in my madness, I forgot perhaps the most important thing - this game is supposed to actually be fun.

And so, changes have had to be made. 23 players per team? It is too ambitious. And there’s only one thing that can be done.

Leave it exactly the same for this season.

BUT, before you dismay, there’s a very good reason for that. This season we bid farewell to two of our former players. Jonno, who joined only last year, and former Dirt League champion Mitchell. And rather than replace them, I have decided on the dramatic step of dropping two teams from the league and becoming a 16 team league permanently.

This means that while the team sizes are not being changed this year, there will effectively be 46 more players available in the free agency pool this season. And while I did consider upping this even more by dropping a bench spot - Round 0 is still going to cause chaos for the opening rounds with excessive byes, so I have retained the 5th bench spot for this season.

This should ease everyone’s pain - just a little.

Now, what does this mean for the Overall Rankings System? Not much. We’ve just combined the ‘16th and 17th’ and ‘14th and 15th’ scores which previously scored the same, and now each place gets a separate final score, as such:

30 points: Premier 13 points: Grand Final loss 12 points: Preliminary Final loss 11 points: Semi-Final loss 10 points: Elimination Final loss 6 points: Finishing 9th 5 points: Finishing 10th 4 points: Finishing 11th 3 points: Finishing 12th 2 points: Finishing 13th 1 point: Finishing 14th 0 points: Finishing 15th -1 point: Finishing 16th

Lastly - if you’re wondering about the draft order - you’re just going to have to find out on the day of the draft.

Good luck all.
