You all know the rules by now, but just in case you need you memory refreshed... The goal of this comp is to try and tip the final AFL ladder at the end of the Home & Away season. Before the start of round 0, anyone wanting to participate should send me their prediction of the ladder. The way we determine the winner is by numerical difference. For each position a team is out from their actual finishing position, that player will score 1 point. This means the LOWEST score at the end of the year is the winner.
For example...
Say I predict Geelong will finish on top, and they do. Great, that scores me 0 points as I got it correct.
Next I predict GWS will finish 2nd. They have a rough year though, and finish 7th. 7th is 5 positions away from 2nd, so that scores me 5 points.
Next I predict Port Adelaide will finish 3rd. Oops, Port crash and burn, finishing 17th. Thats 14 points for me.
And so on and so forth until all 18 teams have been scored. We add up the scores of all 18 teams, and that's your final total. As I said, LOWEST score wins, as that means you were closest to the actual ladder.
This really is a set-and-forget competition, as no extra input is needed after you set your tip. You can do it in 2 mins if you want, or take your time and try to think it out. Either way, it's another way to possibly get some bragging rights at years end. Last year Alan took the crown, can he do it again?
Round 0 begins on Thursday March 5, so you have until then to post your final entry. You may change your entry as much as you want until that point, but once round 0 begins, the competition is closed and your last submitted entry is what I'll take as your final entry.
As in previous years, I’ll also try to find some ‘celebrity’ tipsters to try and spice things up.
