Thread: Cross-referencing the Reef/Cajamar arrests — pattern or coincidence?
Poster A: Has anyone else noticed the timing on these two? Kenya and Brazil, same week, both described as "international inquiries." That's not a coincidence, that's a coordinated operation.
Poster B: Careful. "Not a coincidence" and "here's what actually happened" are two different claims. We don't know enough yet to make the second one.
Poster C: Financial records (publicly filed, nothing hacked, before anyone asks) show both women's international travel correlating with periods neither one's declared occupation explains. That's data, not speculation.
SF_Moderator: This is exactly the kind of finding this board exists for. It is also exactly the kind of finding that gets someone hurt if we're not careful about how we handle it. New house rule, effective today: no name goes up without two independent confirmations and a 48-hour cooling-off period. I know that's frustrating. I'd rather be frustrating than be the reason a fifth ordinary life gets the same fortnight of harassment the fourth one already did.
Poster A: Understood. For the record — I think this rule is the reason this board is worth being part of.
Thread: the fourth name (locked by moderator, read-only)
SF_Moderator: I'm locking this one myself. I've found what several of you have also independently found. I'm not posting it. I've explained my reasoning in the pinned house-rules thread and I won't repeat it here. If you've found the same pattern, I'd ask you, as a personal favour rather than a rule, to sit on it the way I'm sitting on it. Some things are true and still shouldn't be spent.
Poster D: Respect. Genuinely didn't expect a research board to police itself this well.
SF_Moderator: We got it wrong once already, earlier in the year, on a case some of you will remember. I'd rather be the board that learned from that than the board that's proud of never needing to.
Thread: Halcyon Dynamics — anyone got anything solid?
Poster E: Company keeps coming up sideways in three unrelated threads now (Gulf ministry contact, a Washington committee briefing nobody will confirm on record, and something in a Rome-based wire piece about "strategic containment expertise"). Nobody's connected these directly yet. Feels like it should be connectable.
Poster F: I work adjacent to this industry (won't say more). What I will say: "strategic containment" is not a real term of art in this space. It's a phrase a marketing team invented to sound more precise than "we will manage your reputation regardless of the facts." Make of that what you will.
SF_Moderator: Noted and archived. Not actionable yet — three sideways mentions of a company name isn't a story, it's a pattern waiting for someone with more resources than this board has to confirm it properly. Flagging for anyone here who happens to also be a journalist with an actual newsroom behind them.
[Marginal note, added by the moderator to the board's private changelog: two journalists, working independently from two different capitals, apparently connected this exact thread to their own reporting roughly four months later. Neither ever mentioned the board by name. That was, if anything, exactly how it was meant to work.]
