Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
Between
- Oikos in Geylang (the “Church”)
- Degree Recipients at the Seminary Gate (each individual a “Candidate”)
Purpose: This MOU defines a mutual duty of care and covenant of conduct for Candidates receiving degree recognition under King’s College Seminary, and forms part of the graduation requirements to be affirmed during the Alumni Homecoming for GC2029.

Witness & record: This MOU is to be witnessed by Amicus Curae of the Academic Court, and signed by the Candidate and the Chief Academic Officer / President of the Seminary.

1) Parties
- The Church: Oikos in Geylang, including its appointed leaders and delegated representatives.
- The Candidate: the named degree recipient participating in the Seminary Gate pathway.
- The Seminary: King’s College Seminary, acting through the Chief Academic Officer / President.
2) Term, scope, and review
- Effective date: upon signature by the Candidate and the Chief Academic Officer / President.
- Term: from signature through completion of GC2029 Alumni Homecoming graduation requirements, and continuing for a post-graduation duty-of-care window of 12 months unless otherwise amended in writing.
- Scope: spiritual formation, community conduct, safeguarding, wellbeing, housing and hospitality (where applicable), and academic integrity.
- Review: recommended review at least once every 6 months, and as needed if risk, role, or living circumstances change.
3) Shared commitments (duty of care)
The Church, the Seminary, and the Candidate affirm the following shared commitments:
- Truth and integrity in speech, documentation, and witness.
- Respect for boundaries: time, space, privacy, and authority.
- Care for the vulnerable: protection from coercion, manipulation, or exploitative dynamics.
