Business need: Support a multi-step residential cooling sign-up form that generated a completed application PDF and handled online payment.

My role: Worked with the wider WhooshPro team and was responsible for PDF generation, form-data mapping and the payment workflow.

My Contribution

• Built the PDF-generation flow used to create an application document from submitted form data
• Extracted completed form values, mapped them to the correct fields and inserted them into the generated PDF
• Integrated 2C2P into the application flow
• Handled successful, failed and pending payments
• Allowed users to retry payment without completing the form again
• Added scheduled checks for payments that had not yet been confirmed and updated the database when 2C2P returned a successful status
• Triggered a confirmation email after successful payment, with the completed PDF attached
• Tested form submission, PDF output, redirects, retries, scheduled checks and confirmation emails during UAT

How the Payment Flow Worked

After reviewing the generated PDF, the user proceeded to payment. Successful payments led to a confirmation page and email. Failed payments were recorded so the user could retry without filling in the form again. A scheduled job checked pending payments and updated the database when 2C2P later confirmed a successful transaction.

Result

Enabled users to complete a residential application, review the generated document, retry unsuccessful payments and receive confirmation without repeating the full form journey.
