Volume Deck ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension operates and clarifies our strict stance on data privacy and user security.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

We believe in complete privacy. Volume Deck does not collect, log, store, transmit, or share any personal data, audio recordings, browsing history, or identifiable user information.

• No Personal Data Collection: We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, IP address, or account details.
• No Trackers or Analytics: We do not integrate third-party tracking scripts, advertising frameworks, or telemetry services.
• No Server Storage: We do not operate external database servers that capture your activity.

2. Extension Permissions & How They Are Used

To provide audio boosting, equalizer, and device-routing capabilities, Volume Deck requests specific Chrome permissions. Here is exactly why each permission is required:

• tabCapture: Required solely to capture the active tab's audio stream so it can be processed through our Web Audio API pipeline (Volume Gain & Equalizer filters). Audio is processed locally in real-time inside your browser and is never recorded or transmitted outside your device.
• offscreen: Used to maintain active background audio processing in Chrome Manifest V3 without interrupting your playback.
• storage: Used strictly to save your local UI preferences (such as your saved volume level, equalizer preset, and output route) per tab on your device.
• Audio / Microphone Permission (getUserMedia): Required exclusively by Google Chrome to unlock and list the human-readable names of your connected audio output devices (e.g., Bluetooth headphones, external speakers). Volume Deck NEVER listens to, records, or uploads audio from your microphone.

3. Third-Party Services

Volume Deck operates 100% locally on your machine. We do not transmit any data to third-party services, APIs, or external servers.

4. Children's Privacy

Because our extension does not collect any personal information, Volume Deck is completely safe for use by individuals under the age of 13.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect functional updates or regulatory changes. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
