Getting Started
DuoCam films your front and back cameras at the same time and saves them as one video. On first launch you'll be asked for camera, microphone, and photo library access — the app needs these to record and to save your takes. Pick a layout, tap record, and your clip lands in your photo library when you stop.
Frequently Asked Questions
"This iPhone can't film both cameras" — what does that mean? Recording the front and back cameras at once is a hardware feature that requires an iPhone XS or newer. Older models can only run one camera at a time, and no app can work around that limitation.
Where do my recordings go? Straight to your device's photo library, into an album DuoCam creates. The in-app gallery reads only that album, so you can play, share, or delete takes without leaving the app.
Why does my recording stop after a minute? Free takes are limited to one minute. With DuoCam Pro you can record for as long as you have storage space.
Can I keep the front and back videos separately? Yes. Turn on Settings → Files → Save each camera separately (a Pro feature). Every recording then also saves the untouched front and back videos alongside the combined one, so you can re-edit later.
Why is 4K listed if both lenses record at 1080p? Filming two cameras simultaneously caps each lens at 1080p — that's an iPhone limit. Choosing 4K renders the combined video at a higher resolution, so a split-screen layout keeps full detail on each side.
How do I remove the DuoCam mark from my footage? DuoCam Pro removes it. See Settings → Overlays → Remove the DuoCam mark.
Does DuoCam need my location? Only if you switch on a watermark that stamps location, altitude, or speed onto your video. It's optional, it runs only while you're shooting, and the app works normally without it.
The teleprompter — where is it? It's in the capture screen and is part of Pro. Paste your script, set the scroll speed, and read straight down the lens while both cameras roll.
My phone gets warm and quality drops during long takes. Running two cameras is demanding. DuoCam monitors thermal pressure and eases settings to keep the recording alive rather than dropping it. Lowering frame rate or quality in Settings helps on long shoots.
