Privacy Policy · Terms of Use · Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice
These Terms of Use govern KetoBuddy's iOS app and related services. KetoBuddy is operated by Daniel Hangan (“we,” “us”), 447 Broadway, 2nd Floor, #3326, New York, NY 10013, United States. For support, complaints, or legal questions, email [email protected].
Read these Terms before using KetoBuddy. By using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal information; accepting these Terms does not replace any separate consent required for health information, AI processing, or advertising.
KetoBuddy is intended for adults 18 or older. You must also have the legal capacity to accept these Terms; where your jurisdiction requires an older age for independent contracting, that requirement applies.
Provide accurate account information, protect your Apple or Google sign-in credentials, and let us know about suspected unauthorized use. Do not impersonate someone else, share another person's private information without permission, or transfer or sell your account.
KetoBuddy is a general nutrition and wellness tool for recording meals, estimating calories and macros, setting goals, tracking body measurements and habits, recording ketone test results, and viewing progress. It may also provide AI-assisted meal analysis, food-based ketosis estimates, and buddy or challenge features.
Features, available plans, and reasonable usage limits are described in the app. Internet access and an active subscription may be needed for certain functions. We do not guarantee a particular weight change, ketone level, metabolic outcome, nutritional result, or uninterrupted availability.
KetoBuddy is not a medical device, healthcare provider, or substitute for a qualified clinician or registered dietitian. Its content, calculations, scores, prompts, and AI outputs are general information, not a diagnosis, individualized medical advice, treatment plan, prescription, or emergency-monitoring service.
Consult a qualified professional before starting or materially changing a ketogenic diet, calorie restriction, fasting, exercise, or supplement routine, especially if you have diabetes, take medication affecting blood glucose or blood pressure (including insulin or SGLT2 inhibitors), have kidney, liver, pancreatic, or fat-metabolism problems, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a history of an eating disorder. This list is not exhaustive.
Do not start, stop, or adjust medication or insulin because of an app result. Onboarding safety questions cannot identify every risk; the absence of a warning is not medical clearance. Stop an activity or dietary change and seek professional advice if you feel unwell.
KetoBuddy cannot detect or rule out diabetic ketoacidosis or other emergencies. Nutritional ketosis and diabetic ketoacidosis are different conditions. If you suspect a medical emergency, seek urgent medical help or call your local emergency number. Do not wait for an app estimate, notification, or support response.
KetoBuddy records information you enter from a separate test or device; an iPhone camera, food photo, meal log, or app algorithm does not directly measure ketones in your blood.
Blood, urine, and breath tests measure different substances and use different methods and units. They are not interchangeable. Check the measurement method, unit, timing, decimal point, and value against your test device's instructions before recording a result. A strip photo is a record of the image; lighting, camera processing, timing, and the strip's condition can affect its appearance. It is not a laboratory result.
Any food-based ketosis score, estimated level, trend, confidence label, or calibration is an approximation based on incomplete information. It cannot confirm your current ketone level or prove that you are in ketosis. A previous test used to calibrate an estimate does not turn later estimates into measurements. A higher ketone number is not necessarily healthier.
Use your device manufacturer's instructions and a qualified clinician's interpretation for decisions about actual test results. Do not use app estimates to calculate insulin, manage diabetes, establish that fasting is safe, or decide whether emergency care is needed.
