Peakly Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Peakly, developed by Halime Güven (“Peakly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you use the Peakly mobile application.

SUMMARY

Peakly is designed with privacy in mind:

INFORMATION PROCESSED ON YOUR DEVICE

Camera and photos

Peakly uses the camera to analyze skylines and identify mountains. You may also choose a photo from your photo library for identification or select an image for your local profile.

Camera images, selected photos, and image-analysis results are processed locally on your device. We do not upload or store these images on our servers.

Location, direction, and motion

With your permission, Peakly uses your precise location, compass heading, and device orientation to determine which mountains may be visible and to align mountain labels with the horizon.

Your exact GPS location is not stored on our servers or associated by us with your identity.

Profile and collection data

Information such as your display name, profile image, identified peaks, favorites, achievements, activity streaks, preferences, and cached downloads is stored locally on your device.

Peakly does not provide a user account or cloud synchronization service for this information. Removing the app may permanently remove locally stored information.

INTERNET REQUESTS AND EXTERNAL DATA

Some Peakly features obtain terrain tiles, mountain articles, climate information, routes, huts, lifts, images, and wildlife records from online services.

These requests may include the identifier or coordinates of the geographic area or mountain being viewed. The service receiving a request may also receive standard technical information such as your IP address, device or operating- system information, request time, and user-agent information.

We do not use these requests to create an advertising profile or track you across apps or websites.
