Privacy Policy

akayst (“we”, “us” or “the provider”) operates the Kilo mobile application (“Kilo” or “the app”). This policy describes the information processed by the app, why it is used, how it is retained and deleted, and how to contact us.

1. Information and purposes

Information stored on your device

Kilo stores the weight, record dates, notes, goal weight, and lock, reminder, language and theme preferences that you enter or select on your device. These are used for records, calendar, chart, reports, goals, app lock and reminders.

Weight values, record dates, notes and goal weight are not sent to us or Google through usage analytics. If you export a CSV file, it contains dates, weights and notes. Saving or sharing that file may send this information to the service or device you choose.

Your device backup may include app data. Backup storage and deletion depend on your device and backup service settings.

Optional usage analytics

We analyze usage only if you choose to share analytics. You can use Kilo's basic features without agreeing.

Analytics may include an app instance ID and device identifiers such as IDFV; device model, operating system and version, app version and device language; app launches and engagement; feature-use events and their timestamps; and approximate country- or city-level location derived using an IP address. Events may include saving a record, opening a chart or report, and enabling reminders.

A save event reflects when the save action occurred; it does not include the weight value, note, or date selected for the record. Google may use an IP address during collection; Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

We use analytics to understand feature usage, improve usability and plan future development. We do not use usage analytics for advertising or marketing.

2. External service and international processing

We use Google Analytics for Firebase for optional usage analytics. When you agree, usage information may be sent over an encrypted internet connection to Google's collection and processing systems. Google may process information in the United States and other countries where Google or its subprocessors operate facilities.
