The best investors are not the smartest. They are the most consistent.

Dollar-cost averaging
Investing the same amount every month is called dollar-cost averaging. When prices are high you buy fewer shares, when prices are low you buy more. You stop trying to time the market, which almost nobody does well consistently.
Set it and forget it
- Pick your investing day. Ideally 1 to 3 days after payday, so the money goes before you can spend it.
- Set a standing order from your bank to your broker for your monthly amount.
- Set up recurring investing in your broker if it offers it (often called auto-invest or investment plans). Split it by your target percentages.
- If your broker doesn't offer automation, set a calendar reminder and do it manually in 5 minutes.
Your monthly routine (10 minutes)
- Check the money arrived and the investment went through.
- Log it in the Monthly Investing Log and tick Done.
- Update Current price in the Portfolio Tracker.
- Answer honestly: did I stick to my plan?
- Close the app.
