Overview

This project combined large-scale vocabulary assessment development with a mixed-methods research study investigating the use of generative AI in vocabulary test creation. The project resulted in the development of approximately 3,000 AI-assisted vocabulary assessment items while examining the efficiency, quality, user experience, and training needs associated with AI-assisted item generation.

My Contributions

Assessment Development

• Developed and reviewed AI-assisted vocabulary assessment items.
• Created and revised multiple item formats, including multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, and word-form questions.
• Conducted quality assurance through iterative editing and peer review.
• Refined AI prompting strategies to improve item quality and consistency.

Research

• Participated as a member of the research team in a convergent parallel mixed-methods study.
• Conducted quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
• Interpreted survey and interview findings related to AI-assisted vocabulary assessment.
• Contributed to the synthesis of research findings and presentation materials.
