Who Are We?

The SDG Youth Committee NEA (Northeast Asia) is the youth network representative for Northeast Asia. This network comprises six countries: China (Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan), Korea, Japan, Mongolia, and Russia. The network works towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by overseeing and coordinating local and national activities within these Northeast Asian countries

The network members commit to a strategic plan to integrate youth with the SDGs through regional research, monitoring, and societal impact efforts. The network crafts and delivers statements primarily through collaborative and joint forums and conferences within the NEA subregion. Their efforts are directed towards three primary objectives: 1) enhancing youth empowerment for active and meaningful engagement across NEA, 2) facilitating the transition from High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) Core SDGs to regional, sub-regional, and national adaptations, and 3) aligning with the sustainability agendas of the United Nations and Groups of Nations (Y7, Y20)

The SDG Youth Committee NEA was launched in 2023 with a mission to be part of the implementation and follow-up activities of the HLPF, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the North East Asia Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Sustainable Development Goals, and the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD).

Vision

As future generations, we envision a world where the voices of youth are meaningful in the international community, especially in the implementation of the SDGs.

Mission

The objective of the SDG Youth Committee NEA extends beyond its contributions as a CSO. It aims to cultivate and empower the youth across its sub-regions, equipping them to emerge as self-reliant, informed individuals who possess the capacity to effectuate change and propel the agenda of sustainable development.
