• I selected a handful of attributes to rate players on, simply as a guidance tool more than anything. Their main value is their scannability, I understand many may not have the time to read through report after report so these ratings can help inform you whether is of interest to you or not.
• I did take into account positional weighting, so a winger with 7/10 for ‘Against the Ball’ does not mean they are a better defender than a centre back with 6/10 in the same category, it is more an indication that said winger is very active out of possession and a capable pressing forward.
• The ratings themselves are primarily based on my views of the player but there is also a data-informed element. E.g., taking into account top speed data when rating a players ‘Pace’.
• These may fluctuate across the tournament, but for the most part will stay the same as they are based on the screening report I produce on the player before the tournament.
• I’ve used a 1-10 scales due to its simplicity.
