It’s not about your plans

What if your plans aren’t the whole story? This message talks about letting go of control, using what you’ve been given well, and living with open hands instead of only chasing your own way. You’ll be challenged to think about your time, talents, money, and opportunities—and ask: am I building something that really matters?

Daily Devotions

Day 1: Let Go of Control

Scripture:

“Instead, you should say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.’” — James 4:15

Devotional:

Making plans is not wrong. Plans can help us be wise and responsible. But sometimes we hold our plans so tightly that we do not leave room for God to lead us.

We may say, “This is what I’m doing, and this is how it has to happen.” But life does not always go the way we expect. That can make us anxious, angry, or afraid.

Emotional health means learning to be honest about our need for control. Spiritual health means trusting that God knows more than we do. As Pentecostal followers of Jesus, we believe the Holy Spirit still leads, speaks, and guides us today. But we have to slow down enough to listen.

God is not trying to ruin your plans. He is trying to lead you into what is best.

Think About It:

Prayer:

God, help me trust You with my plans. Show me where I am trying to be in control. Holy Spirit, lead me today. Help me listen and follow. Amen.
