Our posture tells a lot

How we treat people often shows what’s really happening inside us. This message looks at the kind of posture we need in life: choosing humility, drawing close to God, and letting that change how we speak and act. Instead of tearing others down or judging them, we’re invited to become better neighbors, friends, and family members. Real faith doesn’t stay hidden—it shows up in how we love people.

Daily Devotions

Day 1: Submit Before You Fight

Scripture:

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

— James 4:7

Devotional:

Sometimes we try to fight spiritual battles in our own strength. We try harder, pray louder, or push through with willpower. But James gives us the right order: first submit to God, then resist the devil.

Submission means we stop trying to be in control. We turn toward God and say, “I trust You more than I trust myself.” That is not weakness. That is spiritual health.

As Pentecostal believers, we believe in the power of the Holy Spirit. But being Spirit-filled does not mean we never struggle. It means we do not have to struggle alone. The Holy Spirit helps us surrender our thoughts, emotions, habits, and reactions to Jesus.

When we submit to God, we are not standing by ourselves anymore. We are standing with the One who has already won.

Think About It:

Where am I trying to fight in my own strength instead of first surrendering to God?

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, help me submit to God today. I give You my thoughts, emotions, and choices. Teach me to resist the enemy by staying close to Jesus. Amen.
