The Broken Foundation
The Broken Foundation was written by Dipang, a citizen of India.
He is not a politician, an academic, or a policy professional. He is a citizen who became frustrated enough with India's institutional failures to spend serious time thinking about them — and who decided that thinking in public was more useful than thinking in private.
This series grew from a simple question: if India's problems are so obvious to so many people, why do they persist? The answer — that institutions are designed to serve the people who run them, not the people they exist for — shaped everything that followed.
The Broken Foundation was developed through an extended process of research, discussion, and argument — examining each institution through its documented failures, the global evidence for alternatives, and the specific policy changes that would close the gap between India's promise and its reality.
