shop-a-room.com is the first multi-brand online marketplace where you can plan your room in 3D. Other companies either offer a planner for a single brand only, or aren't a shop where you can actually buy what you chose. shop-a-room closes that gap and will provide a digital twin to any home, where any changes can be planned in 3D ahead and all required products can be bought with a single click. I am Benedikt, the founder of shop-a-room. I studied Computational Engineering and worked on several projects as an IT consultant. My most recent position was software architect, leading a team at Hapag-Lloyd. I always wanted to build my own company, and I made my dream come true with shop-a-room, combining it with my other big passion, 3D computer graphics. I built the shop, payments, the 3D planner and an automatic AI product import pipeline; all of them are live. I have a partnership with a first seller whose products I already offer on shop-a-room. I have a few more partnerships in the queue. I started a first small ad campaign on Google and attracted our first 250 users. The platform also has first organic traffic. I am optimizing the platform based on user feedback and will start the next ad campaign soon.
The next steps for shop-a-room will be to greatly extend the product catalogue (to deliver on the promise of hundreds of brands), extend the planner functionality and implement server-side rendering with modern RTX GPUs. Longer-term goals include:
