Privacy Policy — Bitrate Pro: Video Storage
Effective date: 29 September 2026 (replaces the version of 1 February 2026)
This policy explains what information the Bitrate Pro app (the "App") for iOS and Android handles, why, and what choices you have. The App is made by Taras Kochubey, an independent developer based in Austria (the "Developer", "I", "me").

✨
In short:
- no account;
- no ads;
- no tracking across other apps or websites;
- no selling of data.
The App sends a small amount of anonymous usage and purchase information to two service providers so I can improve it and unlock Pro.

1. Information that stays on your device
Your calculator settings stay on your device and are never sent to me:
- codec, resolution, frame rate, duration, safety buffer and media size;
- saved custom presets;
- theme;
- the "last version seen" marker used for the What's New screen.
Uninstalling the App deletes them.
2. Anonymous usage analytics (PostHog)
To understand which features are used and where the App can be improved, the App sends anonymous usage events to PostHog. Data is hosted on PostHog's EU cloud.
What is sent:
- Events: which screen or feature you use, e.g. "codec selected", "paywall shown", "purchase completed". These include the related settings (codec, resolution, media size) and the feature that opened the upgrade screen.
- A random identifier created by the App on your device. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID or Google account.
- Technical information: app version, device model, operating system version, language, and approximate country. The country is derived from your IP address when an event is received. IP addresses are not stored.
What is not sent: your name, email, contacts, photos, files, precise location, or any advertising identifier.
Analytics are turned off in developer builds and on automated test devices.
3. Purchases (Apple, Google, RevenueCat)
