Browserlock ("the extension") is designed to be private by default.
What we collect: Nothing. The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal or usage data. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics.
What is stored, and where: Your password (stored only as a salted SHA-256 hash — never in plain text), your optional security question answer (also hashed), and your settings are stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
Permissions: The extension requests only the minimum permissions needed to lock/unlock the browser (storage, idle, and tabs for the optional Strict mode that reopens your tabs). It does not read the content of the web pages you visit.
Remote code: None. All code runs from the extension package; nothing is downloaded or executed from remote servers.
Children: The extension does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Changes: If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
