1. In short

Bunting keeps your birthdays and dates on your iPhone. There is no account, no sign-in, no developer backend for your dates, and no cloud sync. Your entries and your contacts are never uploaded to us and we cannot see them.

Bunting does use two third-party services — Sentry for crash and performance diagnostics and PostHog for anonymous product analytics, both in EU data regions. Neither of them ever receives the names, dates, notes or contacts stored in the app.

There is no advertising, no advertising SDK, no advertising identifier, no cross-app tracking, and no selling or sharing of personal data.

2. Data stored on your device

Bunting processes what you enter or import: names and initials, dates (birthdays with or without a birth year, annual recurring dates, and one-off dates), the entry type, an optional per-person colour, reminder settings, and your app preferences.

This is stored with Apple's local storage technologies inside a shared App Group container so that Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets can display it. Writes are atomic. If the shared container is unavailable, Bunting falls back to the app's own Documents storage and warns you that widgets cannot read it in that state.

This content is never transmitted to Anas Hafidi. We have no copy and no ability to inspect it.

You can delete any entry inside the app. Delete App removes local app data; Offload App may retain it for a later reinstall.

3. Contacts access

Contacts import is optional. Bunting explains why it needs the permission before iOS asks. If you allow it:
