In Three-Person Mechanics, the Center Official is positioned on opposite side of the Lead and Trail (weakside). The starting position of the Center is the Free-Throw Line Extended opposite the Lead and Trail.

• Positioned on the weak side, near free throw line extended.
• Often has the best angle for:
  • Off-ball action
  • Screens
  • Cutters
• Plays a key role in:
  • Helping on drives
  • Monitoring weak-side rebounding
  • Supporting partners with secondary coverage when needed
