Chara Privacy Policy

K-Friend Inc. (the "Company", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the Chara mobile application and related services (the "Service"), how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have.

1. Why We Process Personal Information

Account management	Sign-up via social login, account identification, fraud prevention, account deletion, 30-day re-registration restriction
Providing the Service	Generating AI character chats, creating and publishing characters, generating images (snapshots), calculating relationship (intimacy) levels, publishing highlights, recommending characters
Adult content eligibility	Confirming that you are 18 or older and preventing duplicate verification
Paid services	Processing and validating in-app purchases (Bubbles, Chara Pass subscription), granting and deducting currency, purchase history, refunds
Advertising and rewards	Serving banner and rewarded ads, granting rewards for ad views and offerwall tasks, detecting fraudulent participation
Notifications	Chat notifications, messages from characters, event and announcement push notifications (with your consent)
Support	Handling inquiries, reports and disputes
Improvement and analytics	Usage statistics, crash and error diagnostics, feature improvement, quality evaluation
Legal compliance	Record-keeping required by law, responding to lawful requests from authorities

2. Information We Collect

When you sign up

Social login identifier (a unique ID provided by Kakao, Google or Apple), email address (if provided), nickname, profile photo (optional), gender (optional), date of birth (when using adult content)

When you verify your identity for adult content

The adult-status result and a duplicate-check key (DI) returned by our identity verification provider (PortOne)
Your name, phone number, date of birth and other data used in verification are processed by the verification provider; we do not store them.

While you use the Service

Chat content (messages you type and AI responses), characters you create, user notes, highlights, generated images
Payment and currency records: store purchase receipts (transaction ID, product, time), subscription status, Bubble grant and usage history
Ad reward records: transaction IDs sent by ad networks, advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID, with your permission)
Device and usage data: device identifier, OS and app version, language and country settings, push token, access time, IP address, usage logs, crash and error logs
When you contact us or report content: the content of your inquiry, attached screenshots, contact details (if given)

How we collect it

Directly from you in the app, or through the social login and identity verification flows
Automatically while you use the app, including through SDKs (Firebase, Google AdMob, AppsFlyer)
From app stores (App Store, Google Play), the identity verification provider and ad networks
