1 Motivation

Kids follow adults. They have figured out Googling, and very soon they’ll start using LLMs for everything. Maybe many of them have already done so. We need to have an age-appropriate version of the most popular LLM ready for kids to use.

2 Use cases

2.1 For curiosity

Kids are curious, they have a ton of questions.

2.2 For conversation

Whether we like it or not, many kids are growing up alone. And it might not always be possible for parents to ensure that the kid has someone to talk to.

2.3 For therapy

A growing use case of LLMs for adults is therapy. Kids can benefit from this as well.

3 Features

3.1 Ability to use it as an app on devices

We don’t want to expose kids to the internet directly, so this has to be an app

3.2 Parental controls

This is obviously needed

3.3 Monitoring and notifications to parents

An additional LLM should watch the interactions and flag possible problems to parents

3.4 Ability to work off-line

It might be beneficial to use a local LLM for certain cases. The control of whether to go online should be with the parents
