How to Switch to Your CodePath Work Slack Account: A Guide for all CodePath staff roles

Overview

As a CodePath staff member, you are expected to use a Slack account linked to your CodePath email address — not your personal Slack account.

This keeps your CodePath presence separate from any personal or student accounts you may have used previously, and maintains workplace security and hygiene across the organization.

This guide walks you through how to make that transition smoothly.

Why This Matters

Using a CodePath-linked Slack account:

Before You Start

Operations has already added your CodePath email account to your relevant staff channels. You won't be added as a new member; your CodePath-linked account is already there, waiting for you to start using it.

Note: If you're unsure which email your CodePath Slack account is tied to, check with your manager or [email protected].

Option 1: Full Switch (Recommended)

This approach keeps your personal and CodePath accounts fully separate — like a clean start.

👣 Steps

  1. Remove your profile photo from your personal Slack profile and rename your display to include [Personal] — this makes it easy to tell accounts apart.
