Pick the right first connection

Good first choices include:

• calendar for meeting prep and lookaheads
• email for commitments and follow-ups
• Drive or Notion for project context
• Slack or Teams for project changes

Choose the source that removes the most copying, searching, or remembering.

The setup

1. Open the app or connector settings in your AI tool.
2. Choose the service you want to connect.
3. Sign in to the account that has the information you need.
4. Review the requested permissions.
5. Connect only what you intend to use.

In ChatGPT, app availability depends on your plan, region, workspace, and interface. OpenAI recommends reviewing permissions and choosing the account that already has access to the information you need.

In Claude, connector availability also varies. Anthropic distinguishes remote web connectors from local desktop extensions.

After connecting one source, ask:
