A measure of the strength of the linear relationship between measurements from a criterion device and those from a gold-standard method (e.g., CMJ jump height measured using the Output Sports IMU as the criterion device versus a lab-based force plate system as the gold-standard measurement).

The R value reflects association, not absolute agreement, between measurements from the two devices (1). An R value close to 1 indicates a near-perfect correlation between device measurements, while values close to 0 indicate little or no correlation.
