The Diamond Cut is looking for a Creative Cut Editor to help bring the personality, humor, energy, and signature style of our movie and television reactions to life.
This is not a traditional start-to-finish editing role. You will receive an already completed Core Cut with the foundational reaction edit already built, including the primary story structure, movie/show context, synchronization, framing foundation, technical cleanup, and primary copyright-conscious editing.
Your job begins where the Core Cut ends and you are the final editing layer before the project reaches MyKayla for review.
The Creative Cut is where the reaction receives its final personality-driven layer. You will be responsible for enhancing the completed edit with elements such as memes, editor notes, comedic timing, music and sound design, visual effects, creative enhancements, and other finishing touches that make the reaction feel distinctly like The Diamond Cut.
Because this is the final post-production layer, this role also carries quality-control responsibility. Before submitting a draft, you are expected to review the completed project as a whole, make sure your creative additions have not introduced technical or copyright issues, and complete a copyright check on your version before it reaches MyKayla. Any outside music or third-party creative asset you introduce must include applicable licensing documentation for MyKayla.
You will also complete the verbal intro, post-reaction discussion, verbal outro, and (2) promotional Shorts associated with the finished reaction.
The goal is not to add as much editing as possible. Some movies naturally call for more memes, editor notes, visual jokes, or effects, while others need a lighter touch. Strong creative judgment is essential. Every addition should feel intentional, natural, and supportive of the reaction rather than distracting from it.
If you love movies and television, understand internet humor and pop culture, have strong creative instincts, and know how to enhance someone’s personality, this may be a great fit.

The Diamond Cut’s creative editing style is personality-driven, immersive, comedic, and situational. The Creative Cut Editor should feel like an additional personality inside the reaction someone who understands what MyKayla is saying, understands what is happening in the movie or show, and knows how to turn the right moments into something even funnier, more dramatic, or more memorable. The key to this role is not simply knowing how to use editing effects. It is knowing when, where, & why to use them.
Creative editing may include:
