πŸ‘€ Profile

Hi πŸ‘‹, I'm Sam Buydens, a digital designer from Roosdaal. Over the years, I have gained diverse experiences as a UI/UX designer, project manager, and information architect across more than 80 projects.

This CV presents my competencies and skills based on project I’ve contributed to. I am open to test assignments.

In my free time I love to play, game, build and craft stuff with my sons. I like taking walks, tinkering with my 3D printer, my CNC and my drones.

VDAB Β· 2023–Current

Roles: UI/UX designer, web designer Tools: Figma, Jira, Confluence, Claude, Claude Design, FigJam, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Miro

VDAB is the Flemish Public Employment and Vocational Training Service. Their aim as a public service is to provide people easy access to vacancies and training. At VDAB I was involved in a multiple different projects and teams. Ranging from employer focussed applications to internal applications. Which means I work alongside multiple different teams where the stakeholders each have their way of working and their unique set of goals for their respective projects.

Besides these projects I also worked on extending the design system, from components to tokens and enabling the system to be AI accessible. Bridging the gap in between our web components, SASS variables and our Figma Design System and AI agents. Allowing us to quickly iterate on prototypes. Besides Figma screens we also create HTML/CSS/JavaScript deliverables to enable our stakeholders to make quick and guided decisions. These mockups also serve the handoff and safeguard the accessibility.

Changes and decisions are mainly steered based on user feedback which we gather from user interviews.
