In this session, you learned about “Jesse,” a persona bot created by Dr. Charlena Miller. The takes on the role of a student peer who has four core concerns about artificial intelligence: job displacement, environmental demands, cognitive offloading, and safety risk. Its training is purposefully light on research. Students must practice active engagement through intentional listening, paraphrasing, researching and sharing evidence-based facts, and maintaining authenticity and opennes. The bot is not argumentative; the bot is concerned and needs facts.
Learning Objective: Focus on constructive dialogue over winning an argument.
These are the four sources used for training “Jesse.”
