This Privacy Policy explains how Dalao English (大佬英, the “App”) handles information. The App requires no account, is designed around on-device learning, and contains no third-party advertising or profiling SDK.

1. Information processed on your device

The App may process:

• video links and creator or channel details you enter;
• titles, artwork, captions, and timelines retrieved from content platforms or imported by you;
• local videos and caption files you select;
• learning progress, playback position, saved words and phrases, categories, and preferences;
• shadowing audio that you choose to record;
• product details, transaction verification, and active entitlements returned by the App Store.

Courses, saved items, preferences, local media, and recordings are primarily stored on your device. Shadowing recordings are cleared when you leave the course. Deleting a course also removes its local video copy stored by the App.

2. Content platforms and network requests

When you import or play YouTube or Bilibili content, the App requests video metadata, artwork, captions, channel data, or player content from that platform. The platform may process IP address, device, and network-request data under its own policies and may use cookies or similar technologies in its player or web context.

The App does not request or store your YouTube or Bilibili password and does not upload your local videos to those platforms.

3. Apple services

• SpeechAnalyzer generates English captions for local video on supported devices. Audio analysis occurs on device; Apple language resources may be downloaded when first prepared.
• Translation processes caption text on device when a member requests Chinese translation. Apple language resources may be downloaded when first used.
• StoreKit / App Store loads localized prices, completes purchases, verifies monthly, yearly, and lifetime membership entitlements, and restores purchases. Apple handles full payment credentials; the App does not receive card details.
• AVFoundation, PhotosPicker, and document picker play media, record audio, and access only files or videos you select.
