We started in 2022 building enterprise search. It worked, and it wasn't enough: general-purpose retrieval gives you a plausible answer, and in a plant a plausible answer is worthless.
A crane manufacturer showed us the real problem: their technicians weren't searching documents, they were tracing faults through electrical schematics and PLC code that no software could read together. So we threw out the retrieval engine and built something that reasons deterministically over both, with every answer traceable back to the component and the line of code it came from.
That's Socrate. Multinational industrial clients use it every day, and none of them have left.
