What a Build & Brew group is
A b&b group is a crew of 4 to 8 people who meet every week, either virtually or in person, to work on hands-on projects together.
The purpose of the group is simple: build hands-on projects, stay accountable, and keep the experience collaborative, fun, and grounded in doing rather than discussing. If you want to build cool sh!t every week with friends, this is for you.
The 9 Rules of Build & Brew
- Every b&b group must meet weekly, virtually or in-person.
- The goal of each b&b session is to work on, or complete, a hands-on project. NO THEORY!
- Every session has one Build Master who is responsible for preparing the session’s project for the group.
- Every session has one Brew Master who is responsible for ambiance and good vibes.
- If a b&b member misses a session, it is their responsibility to catch up on the missed project in their own time, ready for the next session.
- If a b&b members misses three sessions in a row without alerting the group, they are removed from the b&b group.
- A b&b group must have a minimum of four people, and a maximum of eight.
- New b&b members can only join with the full consensus of the existing group members.
- We’re here to have fun and learn together, not to “show-off” or run a solo study session.
What makes Build & Brew different
Build & Brew groups are strictly NOT THEORY sessions. We don’t believe in passive workshops, or a lecture for one person to dominate. Each build session is meant to move a project forward, and the culture is built around learning and having fun together.
Roles in the group
Every Build & Brew group has three important roles:
⚒️ Build Master
The Build Master is responsible for preparing the session’s project for the group. This role helps ensure the session has a clear build focus, that everyone can jump into hands-on work quickly, and that the group is spending its time making real progress.
