What I liked

Goes without saying George and Shorrock were outstanding first half. What really impressed me was how much George got around, he also seemed fairly physical too for a vertically challenged man. Shorrock seemed to compliment him as well, got around alot and overall, just performed very well. I felt Agadoo McHugh seemed solid enough and Mc ElMagnifico was alert to most of the danger. Jamesy McManus seemed to have understood whatever instruction he was given and gave a decent shift. Luke Pearce did a lot of running and I am still in awe as to who we didnt level when he had that 1 on 1.

What I didn’t like

We only played for one half. If anyone plays FIFA, you’ll be familiar with the concede early on glitch where the AI or you, depending whoever has the ball first, can score as soon as you go forward right from tip, this is what has happened tonight. The first goal I can somewhat accept, however I felt the second was way too soft, I can’t fathom as to how there was 3 players in front of the ball, Sam at the near post and it still went in, so disheartening to watch. The last goal, whatever man, I’d like to say its easy happen but it was just salt in the wounds at that stage. From there, we didn’t push on at all. I was seriously optimistic at half time and kind of thought to myself, fuck, Purse has finally cracked it because they were genuinely very good.

Now, the easy thing to say is, ah they did not have the balls to plough on when we went 2 down and dya know what? How could you. These lads have been getting absolutely pummeled all season, often with large score lines and not a lot of joy in front of goal ourselves. So, it is not difficult to see when the heads drop and the goals keep on getting conceded.

We had a lot of the ball but genuinely coudn’t do much with it. If we could just get into a position to release a shot on target and follow through for a drop ball or something, we might get a few. Luke Pearce, in fairness he gets around but what this squad is lacking with the exception of Mc ElMagnifico and Quirk in me neck, is physicality. We just aren’t strong enough lads, anywhere, across the pitch. We don’t have any troll hunters or rock apes and as I have said before, one or two gorillas would go a long way. A lot of the squad are very lean and nimble, I heard someone say we signed too many of the same player in the window and I really find it difficult to argue with that, we are taken off the ball too easy. Say what you want about John Mahon, I don’t know the ins and outs of him as a person or what he’s like or how many pubs he’s barred out of as someone on Twitter alluded to, he was a big loss. We’ve lost every single captain in most windows gone by. Morahan, Fitzgerald, Mahon to name a few.

Overall, just so disappointed in the second half, like genuinely saddened but this isnt new to us, we have to keep ploughing on, have to.

I will say, a bit of communication regarding Kav and Esua would go a long way please.

So, no Europe?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I’m starting to feel European football is out of the question next season gents, I know this may come as a shock to some of you, however there’s still a few games left in the league, you never know.

What next m’Lord?

Smile within the flames gents. It genuinely, genuinely can not get much worse. As such, allow me to take you under my wing and let us glide through the breeze of blissful ignorance. We have just over a handful of games to go, this time a few years ago there was 6 teams that could have won the league. “But Chuckles you stupid clown, that was for winning the league!”, I hear you cry. Well, firstly, it’s Lord to you ya shtuttering fucker and secondly, that was not my point. My point is that this league is absolutely incredible in the sense that it’s genuinely not over till it’s over.

Is it too much to ask for a bit of blind faith, right until the very end without throwing your wee kebab all over the floor? Grand that’s agreed so. I hope none of ye are eating from Best either and if ye are may you have food poisoning for the rest of your days. Best takeaway in the town is Sligo Fish n Chip next to Great. Lads, the pizzas are lovely, the chips are exceptional as well as everything else in the place, food is fast, good quality and always fresh, I am done ateing for tonight but I could easily tear apart a meal or two from the place at the minute. Remember it used to be called P Borza and apparently your man was running a brothel upstairs from it 😂There must of been lads back in the day who would go into Cahenys for a shcatter of pints and cross the road to be only a hop, skip, jump, bag of chips away from hows your sister 😂

Drogs away next and they are far away from P Borza as well I’ll tell ya ^^^ Go up there and get a result lads and the pressure is back on, the likes of which you wouldn’t even see in the kitchen in Knox back in the day. Pull up your dungarees and tell your auld one you love her. Ain’t over yet
