Failure Modes of Engineering (FeME) Alumni is a growing community and shared space for people who have been part of FeME to remain connected over time.

It holds relationships, learning, and emerging practice, and supports ongoing conversation about how engineering can respond more justly and creatively to the challenges we face.

Who are FeME Alumni

FeME Alumni is for everyone who has been part of FeME in any way.

This includes people who joined through events and workshops, seed funding and fellowships, training programmes, challenge partnerships, advisory roles, delivery teams, or community collaboration.

Our alumni span disciplines, sectors, career stages, and places. They include researchers, practitioners, students, partners, and systems-thinkers working within and beyond engineering.

Why this community matters

The challenges FeME exists to engage with — climate change, biodiversity loss, lack of representation within future engineering — don’t end when a project or event finishes.

FeME Alumni exists to support ongoing collaboration and shared influence across disciplines, sectors, and career stages. By staying connected, alumni help shape and strengthen FeME’s work, ensuring learning continues to inform practice, leadership, and future action.

How it works

FeME Alumni is designed to be light-touch, opt-in, and responsive to the realities of people’s lives and work.

There is no expectation to take part in everything. Instead, alumni can stay connected to FeME’s ongoing activity, opportunities, and calls; reconnect across Failure Modes and shared themes; and share insights, questions, and emerging practice when it feels useful and manageable.
