FXpress is a live, deployed working build — a single-canvas AI co-pilot for cross-border remittance, documented across twelve states in Hi-Fi Wireframes. The design addresses the full spectrum from Perry (first-time, no crypto, full manual control) to Sadie (daily crypto user, programmable triggers, power detail visible) — one product serving the whole range without forcing any user into a mode that doesn't fit.
The widget is one canvas with state. Everything the user needs to make the core decision — send now, or wait? — is in view at once, with modal layers for the actions that branch off it.
| Canvas state / layer | Core Decision |
|---|---|
| Default rate read | Fexi reads the live rate and describes the moment — the value proposition, surfaced without any user action |
| Range position — top / mid / bottom | Where today's rate sits across the last 30 days of central-bank data; Fexi describes the position and makes no claim about what happens next |
| Send Now → hand-off | Recipient amount certain on the canvas; hand-off to the user's provider |
| Set Trigger sheet | Opt-in automation; threshold + check-back; cancelable any time |
| Saved triggers | Persistence rendered on the canvas, each row showing target against the live rate with a status of Watching, Close, or Target reached |
| Offline | Graceful degradation — the templated voice produces the same range sentence, so nothing but the warmth is lost |
The validated design extended into a working, deployable web widget. It runs on real data, narrates with Claude, and stays honest about what it is — and isn't.
Real, working:
recipient = amount × rate. No fee is shown — FXpress doesn't move money and can't see the provider's pricing, so the canvas names the gap rather than inventing a number.ics calendar reminders, downloadable from any saved trigger
