This Privacy Policy explains how Flash Alert (Android package com.flashalert.callsms) handles information when you use the app. “We” means the developer identified as the seller of Flash Alert on Google Play. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at [email protected].
1. Summary
- Flash Alert has no account and no server of its own.
- It never reads, stores or sends the content of your messages, notifications or calls, and it never reads phone numbers, contacts or the call log.
- Your settings stay on your phone.
- The app shows ads through Google AdMob and uses Google Firebase for anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. These Google services process some device information, described below.
2. Permissions and What They Are Used For
Each permission is optional and is asked for only when you turn on the feature that needs it. You can revoke any of them at any time in Android settings.
- Phone (read phone state): to know that the phone is ringing, so the flash can blink, and when the call is answered, declined or missed, so the flash can stop. Flash Alert does not read the caller’s number, your contacts or your call log.
- Notification access: to know that a notification has arrived and which app posted it, so the flash blinks only for the apps you chose. The app reads only the app’s package name and basic technical flags of the notification (its category, whether it is ongoing or a group summary). It never reads the title, text, sender or any other content of notifications or messages.
- Display over other apps: for the optional screen flash on phones without an LED flash.
- Notifications: to show the “Flash Alert is flashing / Stop” notification while an alert is running, as Android requires.
- Run at startup, foreground service and wake lock: so alerts keep working after a restart and while the screen is off.
- Internet and network state: to load ads and send the analytics and crash reports described below.
The app controls the camera flash through Android’s torch function. It does not take photos or videos and does not request the camera permission. It also uses the phone’s motion sensor (to stop the flash when you pick up the phone) and battery level (for the low-battery limit); this information is used only on your device at the moment of the alert and is never stored or sent.
3. Information Stored on Your Device
Your settings (which alerts are on, chosen apps, blink pattern, speed, quiet hours, screen-flash color and similar choices), the 24-hour unlocks you earn by watching a rewarded ad, and simple counters used to decide when to ask for a review are stored only on your phone. They are not uploaded to our server, because we do not have one. If you use Android backup, these settings may be included in your Google backup under Google’s policies. Deleting the app removes this data from your phone.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Flash Alert is free and shows ads from Google AdMob (banner, native, interstitial, app-open and optional rewarded ads). Ads never appear on onboarding or permission screens, or while you test the flash.
